The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

For those of you who are not familiar with The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, this game is phenomenal with endless amounts of game-time. Well, sort of. In this Zelda game, you only have 3 days to finish all the quests. If you haven't played this game, but are familiar with other Zelda games then you're wondering how this is possible: at the end of the three days, you meet the kid that stole a mask. While in the "Big Boss" battle, he will drop Link's ocarina and simultaneously, he will remember (You learn) a time reversing tune to play, beginning the three days over again. Fascinating, right? What makes this game so phenomenal isn't just the fact that you transcend through time, but the challenges that this imposes for Link, or rather you; as soon as you reverse the time to go back to the beginning, not only do the "days" reverse, but the game events essentially resets itself; though all of Link's "accomplishments" are still complete (he still has all the items and abilities that he received from the previous three days.

(this shows you a bit of the game. At the beginning of the game you can't just blow up the bolder. Once Link is able to use bombs, he then has to blow the big boulder up every time you reset fictional time)

With the resetting of time and having to battle through at least for "big bosses" plus side quests (There is 24 mask total in this game that Link can collect to further his game) there is a lot of Dead Time. When Juul first mentioned dead time, I sat there like "What?" and had to start actively thinking of all the games I've played - I get really sucked into games and don't think about stuff like this when I'm playing - most games I have played include dead time, Majora's Mask is one of the worst. Often times, in order to advance in this game, Link would have to do a bunch of mundane tasks: delivering a note to a shop keeper which requires a lot of running around aimlessly until the right fictional time to deliver, not to mention the time it takes to acquire the note.

Though this game does have a lot of dead time, there is a lot to discover. I have beaten this game and played it several times, and have yet to discover all the aspects to this game with all the stories within stories. This is due partly because I refuse to google everything and partly because there is ample amount of mundane tasks, as well as side quests to keep the player busy.
