There has been many fans of this well known Nintendo franchise, The Legend of Zelda. 2012 is the year the franchise celebrates the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. Currently, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the most popular in the series due to its recent release for the Nintendo 3DS. Since its original release in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, it had an outstanding popularity for its new introduced gameplay. A few years later, Nintendo released it again for the Nintendo Gamecube, along with a new alternate version of the game called The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Master Quest.

The story in the game is a nice interesting fairy tale that does involve a little of "Rescue the Princess" at the end to give it a happy ending. The story begins when a little boy named Link has a nightmare, but he doesn't realize that it was a vision or a prophecy. The Gaurdian Spirit of the forest, the Deku Tree, summons Link to test his courage to see if he is ready for his destined journey. A tutorial is put in through the course of the introduction of the game, to the end of the first dungeon to let the player have a  feel for the controls of the game, with a gaurdian fairy named Navi to guide Link through the entire game.

Link then must head out to the castle to see the princess of Hyrule, Zelda. When she realizes that Link has come with one of the 3 spiritual stones, she knows that Hyrule may be in danger of being taken over by the Gerudo King, Ganondorf, because she had a vision that may be a prophecy as well. So, she tells the story about how Hyrule was born. The 3 golden goddesses, Din, the Goddess of Power, Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, and Farore, the Goddess of Courage, created the powerful golden relic called the Triforce. The Triforce grants one wish to the one who touches it. They knew if Ganondorf took hold of the Triforce, Hyrule would be lost. Zelda explains that the stones act as keys, along with the Ocarina of Time as the main key to the Sacred Realm, a seperate dimension where the Triforce is held.  So, Zelda asks Link to gather the other 2 stones so she and Link will safeguard the Triforce. Unfortunately, Ganondorf invaded the castle and Zelda had to escape. She managed to give Link the Ocarina of Time with a message to go to the Temple of Time where the entrance to the Scared Realm is located and protect the Triforce. Even though it seems misleading, Link doesn't find the entrance, but he finds a familiar mythical blade of evil's bane that awaits there for the next destined hero. It was the weapon that was presented in The Legend of Zelda: A Link To the Past, which is called the Master Sword. When he grabs the sword, suddenly, Ganondorf found out that Link had the keys, so he invaded the Sacred Realm and managed to take the Triforce. When Link awakens, he appears to have grown up. The sage tells Link that the Master Sword sensed the destiny and the power of courage in him and chose him to be the legendary Hero of Time to save Hyrule. He also tells him that Link was too young to be the Hero of Time so the sword sealed him inside the Sacred Realm for 7 years. Now with Hyrule reduced into a land of monsters, Link needed to seek out and awaken the 6 sages in order to seal Ganondorf back into the Sacred Realm.

There are many objects and events in this game that had a resemblance in the earlier Zelda games that keeps players wanting to play the future Zelda games, like the Master Sword and the cuccos from The Legend of Zelda: A Link To the Past. Even Dark Link, the final boss in Zelda II: Link's Awakening as the mid-boss in the Water Temple.

To put the icing on the cake, the final boss in this game is the very same final boss from the first Zelda game in 1987, Ganon. He was big in that game back then, but in this one, he is 5 times bigger than Link. It makes people think how Link could ever stand up to that giant beast.

Overall, this game is simple play, and easy to control. It gives a great story line and good interaction between characters and gives set rules and boundaries inside the game that makes Zelda one of the greatest action and adventure games in the history of the Nintendo era.
